510 Challenge

Congrats Capital City Select Team,

You have been promoted!!  After a great showing this past weekend at Treasure Island we have been
promoted to the next division, the "Way Too Solid" division in the 510 Challenge.

This promotion should be taken as an honor.  As a team, we have no reason to doubt that we can give
them a run for their money.  We are strong, competitive team that doesn't give up.  If we play hard and
to the end, we should have a great tournament.  Playing against the best competition is the best way to
improve.

PRACTICE:
This week:  We will practice from 6-8pm on Thursday night on the Blue Field at the Mather Sports
Center in Rancho Cordova.  Please make every effort to attend practice as it is the only one we have
before the tournament.

REMINDERS:
Please bring your Capital City reversible. BV players please bring your black/white reversible if you do
not already have a Capital City jersey.
Wear black shorts for your uniform.
If you are not bound by superstition, please wear black underneath your jerseys too.
  • Arrival time: 9:45AM
  • Bishop O’Dowd High School
  • Prepare for the weather: cold, rain, wind, etc.
  • Bring garbage bags to store your gear.
  • Change of clothes for between games and the ride home.
  • Something (ie: tarp) to cover your equipment bag, should it rain.
  • Pack snacks and fluids for during the games.  Also, if you have a thermos, it wouldn't hurt to bring
    some hot chocolate/hot apple cider with you to warm up between games.
  • The field is turf (This time we have been promised that it actually is turf).
HOTEL:
Also if you are interested in getting a hotel and bunking up for the night; it has been recommended to
stay at the Marriott Courtyard Oakland in Emeryville. (About 15 minutes from the field) Option rooms
with breakfast.

GOODIES: Caroline Gaea (Elijah's step-mom) has offered to help organize snacks/drinks/oranges for
